Elvis Presley - Johnny B. Good (Aloha From Hawaii-25th Anniver)
Elvis Presley - Johnny B. Good (Aloha From Hawaii-25th Anniver)
(words & music by Chuck Berry)
Deep down in Louisiana close to New Orleans
Way back up in the woods among the evergreens
Stood a log cabin made of earth and wood
Where lived a country boy named Johnny B. Good
Who never learned to read or write at all
But he could play the guitar just like ringing a bell
Go, go, go Johnny go, go, go Johnny, go go
Go Johnny go, go, go Johnny go go
Johnny B. Good
His mama told him "someday you will be a man
And you will be the leader of a big band
Many people coming from miles around
To hear your playing music when the sun goes down
Maybe someday you will be in lights saying Johnny B. Good"
Elvis Presley - Johnny B. Goode (01:48)
The King is singing Johnny B. Goode covered from Chuck Berry at Aloha From Hawaii concert in 1973.
I think of old Skeeter when I hear this song. Many people don't know that Skeeter Davis passed away on 9-20-04
I rememeber meeting her in 1973.
I live in Missouri which borders Kentucky.
This song was part of Elvis soul music that was released in 69/70.
Suspicious Minds was a big one for him.
The only song he did that I did not like was the hunk of burnin love. The song sounded like he was in hell.
I think Elvis made it to Heaven but we will not know until we are on the other side.

Your right, Ronnie was playing the piano. However, it was the late great Eddie Rabbit who wrote the song.
